RF was
born in Burnaby, BC and
raised in the Greater Vancouver Region of BC, Canada, where he still calls
Home.
Since childhood, RF has been moved and inspired by various genres, styles, and
eras of music. Even as an infant, his parents noticed he moved in rhythm with
the music, even before he could crawl.
RF’s most notable quote, “There are only two types of music. There’s Good,
and there’s Bad. Regardless of what genre, style or performer.” After many
years of ups and downs, RF found himself at a crossroads and almost walked away
from his music, altogether. Ironically, just as he was prepared to walk away,
he received a personal letter from Gary Puckett, of Gary Puckett and the Union
Gap. Mr. Puckett had heard RF’s music, and enjoyed what he heard. For RF, being
acknowledged in such a way gave him the courage and strength to continue.
Since that letter, RF has:
- Performed two sets at Cloverdale Rodeo 2010.
- RED 93.1FM, in Surrey BC, has given RF air-time, playing “Mama Tried 2010″ from his album “Collections”.
- Collections has gone to Global Digital Download via CD Baby.com, iTunes, Rhapsody, Napster and many more.
- Performed at the Scotia Bank/BCSPCA annual “Paws For a Cause”,September 2010.
Mama Tried was originally performed and written by Merle Haggard. It has been
re-worked by RF, writing his own final verse extending the song, and for RF,
completing the story. RF was able to do this without losing the integrity of
the original version. Thus giving RF a chance to work his lyrical and
song-writing skills.
RF is always interested in meeting and working with other talented people, be
it song-writers, musicians, other singers, etc. He knows there is always room
to grow. In order for anyone to become great, it takes team work, and a meeting
of talented minds.
